They say there's no place like home for the holidays and we couldn't agree more. We love spending time with family and this year Jeff and I got double the love with both the Smiths and the Kladders to celebrate with.
On Christmas Eve-Eve we joined Jeff's Mom, Grandma, and extended family for the Koopman Christmas. On Christmas Eve we headed to Schoolcraft for our annual Smith-Charles Family Dinner - a favorite tradition of mine. Prime rib (blackened on the grill to order), shots of Rum Chatta, and lots of laughter carries us through till midnight.
On Christmas morning there is monkey bread for breakfast, stockings, and gifts at my parents house, then off to Rockford to join Jeff's parents, siblings, and their kids for brunch, gifts, games, and more games. This year all the Kladder siblings (and their significant others and kids) slept under the same roof for the first time in a very long time - kinda neat.
Jeff and I also paid a visit to my Grandma and Grandpa Smith's house on Christmas Eve - we weren't able to make their celebration on Christmas day. And last but not least, we'll see my Grandma and Grandpa DeKoekkoek this weekend for another extended family get together.
Lots of family, lots of love, and lots of traditions. Here are some of our favorite moments from the last few days.
