This weekend begins our 6 week count down until wedding.  For the love of all that is holy and everything even remotely related to seating charts.... it's going to be here before we know it. But before we celebrate a new marriage and party down on November 2nd, there are a few items in need of being checked off the list, some things more fun than others.

Last week we checked one of the 'fun' ones off the list and teamed with Brian & Stacey Simmermacher, a married duo out of Saginaw, Michigan who master photography and film. After being introduced to them by our photographer James Richard Fry, they too signed on as a wedding partner and made the trip last Wednesday night for our engagement party.

Over glasses of wine and snacks from my ever favorite Costco, they interviewed our wedding party one by one hashing out stories from the past and messages for the future. The footage will be made into a video and played during the reception.

The engagement party was special - our friends who had never met were finally able to put a face with the name. Some people experienced my Dad for the first time, which I heard was memorable - jokes are his thing. Our photographer James (James Richard Fry Photography) was able to stake out everyones 'good sides' before the big day - bless you! Our wedding coordinator Katie (Kenley Event Design) was able to meet the 'animals' she'll be herding in just a few more weeks. And for me, for the first time, it really set in that I was curating a big event of awesome people who will be witnessing a huge moment in our lives. Dang hommie. It's for real.

The next morning Brian and Stacey did a second round of interviews, this time with Jeff and me. While they were setting up their equipment they giggled to one another about what they had heard the night before.

"We totally feel like we know you guys now," Stacey said.

"You two have some pretty funny friends," Brian added.

Jeff and I just looked at each other and just smiled. We can't wait to see what Brian and Stacey put together from the stories that were shared. We hope it's a fun and more personal way for our guests attending the wedding to get to know us, as well as our closest friends.

Last, congratulations are in order... Happy One Year Anniversary to Brian & Stacey, as they were married this time last year. We hope our first year of marriage is has happy as yours!

Be sure to check out some of Brian and Staceys more recent work below, Brett & Emily - Let Love Brew.

A solid shout out to our partners who attended last week:
