I love love love my husband and my husband hates hates hates celebrating himself. And while I try my best to honor my husbands wishes, a 30th birthday trumps all!

This month Jeff, along with 3 other of his fellow Calvin grad friends (Jessica, Marcus, and Cody), turned the big dirty 30th and we celebrated! We started the party at Chez Olga in Eastown, an authentic Caribbean restaurant where it's BYOB. The food is spicy and plentiful. If you haven't been we highly recommend it. From there, a party bus picked up our group of 20-something and we made 3 stops featuring different kinds of fun.

Stop #1 was to SkyZone, the indoor trampoline park off 28th Street. Cost was $10 for 30 mins, plus $1 for SkySocks which are required. It was an unexpected and hilariously fun time, and minus a rolled ankle by birthday girl Jess, we all made it out in one piece.

Stop #2 was Clique Bowling Lanes on the Westside. Bowling and darts are two of Jeff's favs. We had lanes reserved on the second floor where we hung out for an hour and watched the pros do their thing - Jeff, along with Cody, Kevin, and Charlie are all on a bowling league team together. They do not need bumpers.

Stop #3 took us to PlayStation Pub on the Westside, an old Pizza Hut turned karaoke bar. Marcus and Cody fancy themselves karaoke kings and the group agrees; they sing an outstanding Josh Groban and Garth Brooks.

Our night ended back where it started in Eastown at Yesterdog. We had a blast acting less like 30-year-olds and more like we were back in college.

A very happy birthday to Cody, Marcus, and Jessica. You cats are some of the best I know. And Jeff, happy birthday to my best friend. Looking forward to celebrating the rest of life with you. Cheers to the next 30!
