Jason and Rachel were married on Saturday, April 23rd in Portage, Michigan.
Very recently my only brother got married to a wonderful woman who we welcomed with open arms into our family.
The first time I met Rachel was the weekend of my own wedding and Jason, my brother, had asked if he could bring her as his guest. Because Jason was in our wedding as a groomsmen that left Rachel to her lonesome while he was off with the gents in the morning. So, in true Smith family form, we asked if she wanted to join us in the ladies hotel suite while we all got ready.
From the very start, she fit right in. She’s fun, makes great conversation and joins us in our liking for vodka. And most importantly, over the last couple of years I’ve gotten to witness how happy she makes my older brother.
Their wedding was a fun event all around and I was proud to stand as a witness to their marriage as one of Rachel's bridesmaids. Vows were exchanged at St. Cathrine’s in Portage, Michigan while their reception was hosted at Gull Lake Country Club. The day was sunny and gorgeous which was a true reflection of just how wonderful of an event it was.
We danced until late into the evening and partook in one (okay… 3) too many cocktails. It was glorious.
With Rachel as our newest addition, our family is now complete. Congratulations to my brother and his new wife, Rachel.
