The Kladder family's connection to Palm Springs, California, spans four generations. It all began with Jeff’s grandparents, Peter and Arlene, who started vacationing there in the winter with close friends—some of whom still spend the season there today.
Their love for the desert oasis was passed down, and now Jeff’s parents, Tom and Marilynne, along with his Aunt Susan and Uncle Bob, continue the tradition by spending the colder months there. Jeff’s Uncle Steve and his partner Samuel have taken it a step further and now live in Palm Springs year-round. And lucky for us, the next generation—kids and grandkids—are always welcome to visit and keep the tradition going.
We try to visit Palm Springs as often as we can. Beyond spending time with family, we’ve fallen in love with the area for so many reasons: the perfect weather, golf, hiking, fine dining, happy hour, mid-century modern architecture, the vibrant art scene, and more. And I wouldn’t be a true Kladder if I didn’t mention the Living Desert Zoo & Gardens.
Below is a list of our trips over the past few years sharing some of our incredible memories. We look forward to growing this list, the memories, in the years to come.
